Abstract:
Dry Silane XLM60 is free-flowing granules masterbatch of liquid silane XLP60, XLP60 is a silane based, 1 step cross-linking agent for HDPE pressure pipes (under-floor heating, hot water pipes, sanitary and drinking water distribution). If using the masterbatch with an unstabilized carrier, the use of a separate masterbatch containing antioxidant and metals deactivator is recommended. Our special carrier technology has made it possible to manufacture this highly concentrated batch successfully. Silane XLP60 is the equivalent product to XL PEarl® 60 of Momnetive OSi Specialties.
The liquid XLP60 is inflammable and hazardous and therefore difficult to dose into an extrusion process that requires special and expensive devices and well trained skilled operators. However, soaked on porous pellets in the form of XLP60, it can be dosed like a masterbatch in a colorimeter-like feeding system providing nitrogen-blanketing.
